Let's talk about Bokio

Bokio is changing the way people run small businesses in Sweden and UK by making the bookkeeping and accounting simple. It handles millions of transactions, helping their customers invoice and pay thousands salaries every month.

Objective

• Increase conversion rate of BBA (Bokio business account) onboarding
• Improve the discoverability of BBA after onboarding
• Reduce the time from create to complete a payment
• Increase traffic to the new transactions and payments page for existing BBA users

What we know already from users

Data points from web app visits, what is current status, what is NPS score, user feedback from Facebook community and help-scout support cases.

We interviewed some users to know how they use the product and documented all details of each call and highlighted user goals, needs & motivations and understand them better.

Core issues found

• Users have hard time discovering what changed after onboarding to BBA
• Some users missed to sign the payment for the first time and it was a learning curve for new users. (Ready to sign » Scheduled)
• It was not clear to the user that they can sign multiple payments all together

Solution

From team workshop and brainstorming sessions we explored many ideas and decided to try a "global icon" for Bokio Business account (BBA) with two variants, one for onboarding new user and one for signing payments for existing BBA users respectively.

The idea is to give a "checkout" kind of experience to sign payments to the signee.

Since this new icon is on the top corner of the web app product and easy to miss the new addition. So we also decided to build something to highlight for the first time.
